Introduction: - The women cell of Danielson Degree College was established in 1990. Principal Prof. L.M. Lal started with the objective to make the women of surrounding area self confident and self dependent. The cell was funded by the college initially but later on the college started receiving funds from AIACHE i.e. All India Association of Christian Higher Education for the women cell. The cell conducted sewing and hand embroidery course in the beginning and other courses were added as soon as the cell was sponsored by the AIACHE. These courses were knitting, personal grooming & beautician course, course on best from the waste material but waste material work was discontinued for certain reasons. The certificates of sewing and embroidery courses were recognized and distributed by the department of Mahila Bal Vikas, M.P. Govt. Now it is done solely by the college.           In the current session 2018-19 about forty girls are enrolled in all the courses. The aim of running these curses was to empower poor girls / women by offering them these life skills in concessional rates. Some girl students of the college also get admitted in the cell to learn the skills which would enable them to earn while they learn.

The girls or women passing out from here acquire enough practical experience and skill. This enables them to work on their own or to work in boutiques and beauty parlors. Some girl students started their own beauty parlors, whereas some assist other beauticians. Some of them have customers whom they give service at their homes. Thus the women cell has been empowering women economically since its beginning.

The cell has been established when there were no such courses in Chhindwara being run by N.G.O., Government or any other agency. Thus the college has played a vital role in the improvement of economic development of the women especially the deprived ones. They have gained self confidence and are not only supporting themselves economically but their families too. The college has realized the need of the society and contributed successfully towards its upliftment.
